Charity drive for Sedgefield Animal Matters

GEORGE NEWS - Woof Stock, a charity drive held at Mujo Bar and Restaurant last Saturday, 30 November, was a great success. It was hosted by the events company Aviorus, driven by an enthusiastic group of young individuals who want to contribute to the community.

All proceeds went to Sedgefield Animal Matters (Sam), whose main goal is to spay and neuter as many animals as possible.

Organiser Matthew Polly says it was strictly a non-profit event created for the sole purpose of raising money for animals. "We decided to do a full day and night event, hoping to see as many people as possible throughout this time, and excited to see how things turn out after much planning and preparation.

"All profits from ticket sales serve as a donation to Sedgefield Animal Matters and will go straight into their organisation."

Sam's vision is to prevent the suffering and death of animals and to enrich the human-animal bond by providing excellent, accessible and affordable spay or neuter and veterinary care.

Members of Sam made sure to be there during the day to help out and enjoy the exciting atmosphere.

"A big shout out to the team that managed to pull things together and make magic happen. We look forward to the new year to reach out in similar ways and make dreams come true," says Polly.

"Kirsty Hofhuis and Dale Robertson made it possible for Sam to join in on the fun, so a big thank you to them. Woof Stock would not have been the same without your presence."

Polly extends a big thank you to the Aviorus Team, as well as Mujo's for allowing them to use their venue and for donating a R1 000 to Sam. "We are going to have very happy animals, our furry friends that we are here to speak for."

Partygoers stayed well into the evening.
