Ekasi Kuier is the very first township fair organised by Seda Southern Cape to give businesses of Thembalethu the opportunity to receive exposure in a professional set-up. The event lasted till Saturday.
Some 20 businesses, mostly Seda clients, took part. Seda (Small Enterprise Development Agency) provided an attractive temporary exhibition area on the sport ground of Thembalethu High School for the two days.
Wide-ranging products and services were advertised including construction, property and investment, a laundry service, hair and beauty services, jewellery manufacturing, catering equipment hire, music entertainment and security services.
"It was the very first Ekasi Kuier and it was a positive experience. Exhibitors were satisfied that there were many feet and they picked up leads and made contacts," said one of the organisers from Seda, Denise Bredell.
"Seda wanted to give their clients an opportunity to showcase their products and services in a professional set-up with this event. A similar fair is being held this coming weekend in Mossel Bay and on 23 and 24 October another follows in Bitou," said Bredell.
