GEORGE NEWS - Major General Oswald Reddy, Eden cluster commander, this morning welcomed 108 new police constables to the police at a ceremony held at the cluster office in George.
These constables successfully completed their training at police training academies in the Western Cape and are some of the students that graduated last Friday 13 December.
During the festive season these constables will work at police stations in the Southern Cape after which they will be deployed at police stations throughout the region.
Only 47 will be permanently deployed in the Eden cluster. Seven of these constables will be deployed at George, four at Conville, two at Thembalethu and one at Pacaltsdorp.
In his welcoming Reddy emphasised the importance of discipline in the organisation and the importance of prioritising service delivery to the community. He warned the new constables to stay away from corruption and encouraged them to work hard with dedication and vigilance while serving their communities.
