GEORGE NEWS - Keller Williams Realty Agency and Great Brak River Conservancy recently came together and organised a successful cleanup along the beach and dunes of Great Brak River.
Besides the rubbish collected, 135 alien invasive rooikrans trees were removed from the dunes to give the indigenous vegetation a fighting chance.
A beautiful sighting of a Cape wolf snake put a spark in the day that was otherwise littered with glass alcohol bottles, plastic and purposely dumped household rubbish that have become a regular at such cleanups.
Not only were those involved able to make a difference, they also had a great opportunity to spend time together in the beauty that nature has to offer. This example of business and community coming together to further conservation efforts within Great Brak River is one worth following within our own communities and green areas.
The beach and dunes of Great Brak River benefited from a cleanup by this group of business and conservancy members.
