The exercise was in support of Kingsley Holgate's 'Rhino art - Let the Children's Voices be Heard' campaign and the World Youth Rhino Summit, which was held at the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal from 21-25 September.
Adventurer Kingsley Holgate, who has travelled through Africa highlighting the rhino poaching crisis, maintains that the rhino is under attack. Humans are seemingly intent on wiping them off the face of the earth. To bring this calamity to the attention of the world Holgate found that children were the perfect tool to spread the message. "They create artwork that speaks volumes."
As part of York High School's real life week programme, Bryson presented a synopsis of the international rhino project highlighting how real the extinction threat is of these majestic and ancient animals.
The reality of the horrors of rhino poaching was driven home with hard-hitting video clips and horrifying statistics of declining rhino numbers. The students were visibly moved and expressed their support in beautiful posters that clearly carried their messages of "we really do care".
