GEORGE NEWS - The Ulysses Motorcycle Club held their annual Paws Run at Checkers, Redefine Boulevard in York Street, on Sunday 24 September, with proceeds going to the Garden Route SPCA and Badisa, a child and family care organisation. 

Checkers contributed to the cause by availing pet food and products at discounted prices.

Secretary of Ulysses Motorcycle Club Paul Erasmus said, "Today we are collecting food for the SPCA and, for the first time, we are also using this occasion to help the local charity organisation Badisa raise funds. 

"Everything that you see here today is going to the two recipients, Garden Route SPCA and Badisa."

Garden Route SPCA chairperson Heather Church was very appreciative. "We were really honoured to be chosen this year as one of the beneficiaries of the Paws Run.

"They have done everything; they found wonderful prizes for our raffles and have arranged this amazing amount of food and held collections for the SPCA. We are so grateful to the Ulysses Motorbike Club, they are amazing."

Ria Strydom, chairperson of the Funds Committee at Badisa, was equally grateful for the Ulysses Motorcycle Club's help.

The Garden Route SPCA received a big amount of pet food collected in the Paws Run.

"The entire Badisa staff worked very hard with the raffles and collected an amazing amount of money with the help of Ulysses Motorcycle Club. We want to thank them for their help, and we also thank the Garden Route SPCA for sharing the day with us."

The Ulysses Club was fully supported by their members, as well as members from other motorcycle clubs in the South Western District Motorcycle Association.
