Eden FM DJs Christo Gawie and Jason Stanley acted as masters of ceremony at the Fanjol.
GEORGE NEWS - On Friday the opening of the Fanjol in Rosemoor kicked off with a cavalcade of colour, laughter, floats, dignitaries and happy, dancing children.
Not to mention the deafening sounds created by the hundreds of vuvuzela enthusiasts.
Many food stalls catered for the hungry crowd, but if you wanted to quench your thirst, the choice was limited to a few soft drinks sold by vendors. The promised beer tent never opened as the organisers could not obtain a wine and malt licence in time. But in spite of the enforced probation, spirits ran high and fun was had by young and old.
Here are some images from the day, dubbed by many as a very successful ‘dry run’.
