GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - With the Buco Karoo to Coast race set to take over the road between Uniondale and Knysna, motorists have been urged to stay away from Prince Alfred's Pass for 10 hours on Sunday, 22 September.
The following notice was issued by organisers:
"The event organisers would like to notify the public of Knysna, Uniondale, Plett and surrounds that cyclists will traverse the Prince Alfred’s Pass from 07:20 until 16:30 on Sunday 22 September.
"Motorists from Plett - please do not take the Wittedrift/Plett route over the Pass. Motorists are asked not to drive on the Prince Alfred’s Pass on Sunday 22 September from 06:00 until 16:30. Provincial and Municipal Traffic officers will be on the route and will be pulling over any vehicles that may endanger the cyclists.
"Cyclist Supporters may not be on the pass after 06:30 on race day and must return to Knysna via George or Kareedouw after dropping off riders in Uniondale.
"Cyclists please note that the Pass cannot be closed entirely and there will be landowners and other vehicles on the route – please keep left."
