GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - South Africans are called upon to share in National Purpose Celebration Week from 2 to 10 March.
Complementing the theme, a film that examines human purpose will premiere at Ster Kinekor Garden Route Mall a few days before being screened nationally on Friday 2 March.
The film, The Roar, was produced by scriptwriter and actor Frans Cronjé.
Cronjé feels that people who wrestle with existential issues will find answers in this movie.
The Roar is a need-to-see family film with a faith-based message focused on the human desire to discover your authentic purpose and to know why you are here.
"This one is at its very best on the big screen", says Cronjé.
This is his fifth feature film and features the very talented Almarie du Preez in the female lead as Louise, Frans himself as Ranger, Heinz Winkler as Louis's fiancé, and Greg Kriek, Eugene Khumbanyiwa and Mpho Masienyane.
Two American actors, Torry Martin and Shaullanda Lacombe, complete the main cast, while the world-famous "lion whisperer" Kevin Richardson served as a stunt double, along with his magnificent lions.
The Roar has an international setting and was filmed mainly in South Africa and New York.
Cronjé says pastors, headmasters, church leaders, youth workers, community leaders, school management and youth organisation leadership will give momentum to the National Purpose Celebration Week.
"These leaders are respected key influencers and now is the time to optimise the impact of joined forces in search of our key purpose in life as South Africans and indeed as Africans."
