GEORGE NEWS - The SANParks biodiversity and social projects unit, together with their Working for Water teams based in Wilderness, joined the Garden Route SPCA (GRSPCA) for a jam-packed day at the George branch on Thursday 28 July.
"We were so privileged to have the team with us for the day," said the GRSPCA's Amber du Preez.
"We kicked it off with an introduction and educational session about the GRSPCA in our education centre. We learned so much from each other and reiterating the importance of proper animal care with this wonderful team. Everybody was so eager to learn more."
She said they spent time educating the visitors about the SPCA movement and its mandate, as they believe knowledge is power.
"We grab every opportunity we get to build a strong, healthy relationship with the members of our community."
The SANParks team was divided into different groups and each group took part in different tasks for the day. Some planted trees, succulents and flowers, while others bathed, brushed, walked the dogs and cuddled the cats.
"Our vehicles were all washed inside and out and the blankets for our animals were washed and hung up to dry. We had so much fun," said Du Preez.
"Thank you to each and every one of the SANParks employees that spent time with us, we really enjoyed having you here."
