GEORGE NEWS - The George Arts Theatre was packed to the brim last Friday evening in support of a fundraiser to assist victims of last October's fires in the George region.
This was an initiative by the SANParks Honorary Rangers, for the replacement of household goods lost by victims of the wildfires.
Two local bands with guest artists and two solo acts showcased their talents, including Barefoot Music (Bea Crawford and John Richards), The No Name Band of the 50 Plus Music Club, led by Kevin Lawlor, Geoff Carter and the veteran surfer and golfer Ron Carr, who opened the stage.
Zane Erasmus, the organiser of the event, said he has had numerous requests to present another show of this nature. "It was so much fun, it really exceeded my expectations. We were sold out two weeks before the show."
The SANParks Honorary Rangers movement is open to people with a passion for nature and a dedication to support South African national parks. For more information visit their website.
