GEORGE NEWS - A group of 30 matriculants are taking part in training sessions at the George Youth Café aimed at better equipping them for the job market. The job readiness workshops, run by the George Municipal Youth Office in partnership with the George Youth Café and the Department of Labour, started on Monday and come with no cost to the youngsters.
No confirmation is needed to attend the training and participants only need to come prepared with a pen and notebook. The training includes the preparation of a CV, writing of a cover letter, interviewing skills and other related information.
Esihle Bungile (21) said he finds the training very interesting and believes it will benefit him in future. Anushca Ruiters (20) has just finished an internship doing administration and would like to further her studies. She finds the training very insightful. "We are taught people skills and how to project ourselves in a professional manner."

The next workshop are lined up for 21 to 25 January from 09:00 at the Thembalethu Zone 9 community hall; 26 January to 1 February from 09:00 at the Rosemoor community hall and 4 to 8 February from 09:00 at the Blanco community hall.
Further dates for other areas will be advertised on the George Municipal social media platforms.
