Breakey's heart is in a permanent state of failure, with only 25 per cent function remaining. He says because he can still walk, many motorists do not take his disability and right to the disabled parking bays seriously.
"I look healthy and fit even though my heart is in a chronic and permanent state of failure. I have been medically boarded due to my failing health. There are some people who have disability cards, like myself at the age of 48, who can walk, albeit not very fast or far, but the assumption that I am not allowed or entitled to park in the disabi-lity parking is both annoying and frustrating. I wish to educate these judgmental, ignorant and uninformed folk."
Breakey took the accompanying photo outside the Absa bank in York Street on 3 October.
"I confronted the passenger who thought it was a joke. I told him to tell his driver he shouldn't act like an idiot and park in bays specifically designated for people with disabilities like myself. I told him I suffer from heart disease and have only 25 per cent function remaining and that my disability card allowed me to park in the bay, his reply was just a shrug of his shoulders and he mumbled something about having to deposit a large amount of money. I nearly deposited my fist on his face. When I asked the Absa security why they didn't put cones to prevent these inconsiderate idiots parking illegally, they said they couldn't as it was municipality property and not theirs!"
The owner of the vehicle in question has apologised and vows never to use a disabled parking bay again while remaining fit and strong.

This vehicle occupied the disabled parking when Anthony Breakey from George went to Absa bank in York Street earlier this month.
