Update
GEORGE NEWS - The weather was somewhat dreary on the first day of the Koi Show, but that did not detract from the beauty of the Garden Route Botanical Garden where the show was being hosted, nor did it dampen the enthusiasm of the participants or spectators.
The show took place on Saturday and Sunday, 23 and 24 April. An approximate total of 200 koi fish representing 18 varieties were being showed and were in contention for the first place in each of the categories.
The show attracted many families and the children in particular enjoyed it, persuading many a parent to buy some koi fish for their ponds at home.
The sale of refreshments by local vendors and live music by duo Driekie and Herman of the band Onbekend made the excursion even greater fun and provided an additional vibe to the festive atmosphere.
The organisers look forward to seeing Georgians attend next year's show in their numbers.
