GEORGE NEWS - The Hope Church annual Night Run tomorrow, Friday 8 February, promises to be the most festive run of the year and an event filled with family fun. It starts at 18:30 at the Garden Route Botanical Garden.
Friendly teams will be ready to help with registration from 16:00 until 18:15. The 5km and 3km runs are less strenuous trail routes through the lovely garden and along the peaceful roads of George. The two shorter distances make for great fun for all levels of runners and walkers.
The 3km route is suitable for parents with prams and the 3km and 5km routes are suitable for dogs on leashes.
The more adventurous athletes are invited to run the 10km forest trail run, which takes the runner along a trail through George's indigenous forests. Participants should bring a head lamp.
Child care with jumping castles, face painting and games, a variety of food stalls and live entertainment will be available.
The first 2 000 runners that cross the finish line will receive medals, some of which will hold a hidden lucky draw prize.
The prize-giving for the 10km will be held at 20:15 where monetary awards will be given for the first (R2 000), second (R1 500) and third (R1 000) places for men and women respectively.
Georgians are invited to join the run or simply come and chill out and cheer others along in the wonderful atmosphere of the Hope Church Night Run.
