Accused number three, Phumlani Quesheka (31), faced 11 charges. He was acquitted of five charges: four of fraud and one of conspiracy to commit murder. Monqo and Pamba were found guilty of no less than 13 fraud charges and together the trio were convicted of a number of other serious charges including murder, kidnapping and defeating or obstructing justice.
This morning's proceedings started with victim impact reports of the mother of the deceased and the three potential victims from the Eastern Cape, submitted to the court as evidence.
Reports on behalf of Monqo and Pamba were compiled and handed in to court by a local social worker who also testified on Monday morning.
After the social worker's testimony and cross-examination by the state, it was Monqo's turn to take the stand again.
During this testimony the court heard that he still believes in his own innocence and said neither himself, nor Pamba or Quesheka, killed Mohapi.
He said he was hurt and embarrassed by the situation and has great sympathy with Mohapi's family and what had happened to them.
The trial continues.
