GEORGE NEWS - The much-anticipated Smart Paws Academy Fun Dog Show is taking place at the George Riding Club this Saturday, 28 May. All the proceeds of the day will go to the SPCA and PDSA for much-needed sterilisations.
Fantastic news is that Garden Route SPCA has committed to do microchipping during the show at only R100 an animal.
Dogs will be competing in 12 classes plus an overall champion class. Great prizes, stunning rosettes and certificates are up for grabs. Entry is R30 per class. Registration starts at 08:30 and judgement of the first class starts at 10:00. All dogs must be on leads throughout the day.
12 classes plus the BIG one:
- Best trick in under one minute
- Most appealing eyes
- Best puppy (under six months)
- Most handsome male
- Most beautiful female
- Best cared for/physical condition
- Best rescue
- Best golden oldie (over 10)
- Most interesting looking cross breed
- Cutest small dog under 40cm
- Coolest large dog over 40cm
- The dog the judges would most like to take home
- nChampion of the day (open to all the winners of the other classes)
Fun day for all
Catering will be done by the riding club and food and drinks will be sold on a cash basis only. Various stalls will add to the entertainment and the little ones can have extra fun on the jumping castle. Go George and the Guide Dog Association will also be in attendance.
On the day, master of ceremonies Sean Snyman will be replacing his George Speaker hat with that of animal rights campaigner by putting his voice behind sterilisation to ensure healthier, happier dogs.
