GEORGE NEWS - An event for families and individuals who love the outdoors will be coming up middle March in Hoekwil.

The Family Outdoorsmen Event is a combined ministry outreach of the Garden Route Independent Baptist Fellowship and its different members. 

"Last year, we held our inaugural Outdoorsmen Event and, even with cold, rainy weather, we had over 70 individuals attend. 

"This year we moved the event from late-May to mid-March with the hopes of better weather," said Rod Poplin, organiser of the event.

It will be held at Beyond the Moon in Hoekwil on 17 March from 14:00 until 18:30. 

This event is for hunters, fishermen, outdoor enthusiasts, and their families. 

"We will have games and exhibitions, as well as a question and answer session with experienced outdoorsmen. 

"We have an experienced hunter from the USA who will be our guest speaker," said Poplin. 

This event will close with a snoek braai, which is being sponsored by Pick n Pay, and a prize drawing for items donated by sponsors.

Tickets cost R100 (adults) and R50 (children under 12).
