GEORGE NEWS - Nineteen teams comprised of local businesses and organisations took part in a bowling competition to raise funds for Up With Downs on Sunday 3 November at Let's Go Bowling in York Street.
Up With Downs is a community-based school for learners with special needs, situated in Blanco, started in 1998.
It has grown into a sought-after facility that provides an education tailored to the individual needs of its special needs students.
The school relies solely on fundraisers and donations, together with school fees, to operate. All the proceeds of the competition will go directly to the school to help with its day-to-day operation. The competition started in October and the finals were held on Sunday with many prices up for grabs. George Herald, which was the media sponsor of the event, was also represented.
