GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - The Southern Youth Film Festival (Suff) received a donation of 30 dignity buckets from Moontime Community on Monday 27 September.
The donation was funded by a R7 500 cheque that Moontime had received from the George Business Chamber after a golf day fundraiser earlier this year.
The buckets contained reusable sanitary pads of different sizes, soap and an information pamphlet.
Kirsten Ruhnke, co-founder of Moontime Community, handed the buckets to Monique Michaels, health and well-being coordinator of Suff.
Ruhnke said that Moontime was thankful to the chamber for selecting them to receive the cheque.
The donation of the buckets would not have been possible if it hadn't been for the chamber's donation. She said the pads are reusable - they can be washed and can last for many years. They are chemical free, which is much better for the well-being of the girls.

Ray Carstens, social media and marketing manager of Suff, thanked the chamber and Moontime for supporting its dignity project.
The sanitary pads will benefit 30 young women from the greater George area and will help them to get through difficult times. She said Suff wanted to restore dignity in the community through this project.
Bernadette Schaap, manager of the George Business Chamber, said it is a privilege to pay it forward in supporting the young women dignity project. "It forms part of the George Business Chamber youth development portfolio to enrich the lives of our communities to the best of our abilities."
