GEORGE NEWS - It's six weeks to Christmas. It's time to fill in your leave forms and start dreaming.
A couple of families and individuals shared their plans for the coming holiday season with journalist Michelle Pienaar.
Some are heading to a favourite hang-out spot while others are staying home for the break, but everyone agreed spending time with family and friends is what it's all about.
Pastor Jackson Moyikwa and his wife, Nosipho: This December I will give time to my family. I have been busy with the community the whole year, but now it's time to rest and enjoy the company of my family. Will have to take them out and play with my girls. Shalom Shalom.
After multiple productions and shows this year, I'm planning to spend some time with my Swiss family in Cambodia, from the end of November. They were the people who looked after me when I sliced in Swiss. But, I will also be spending a little bit of my holiday in Cape Town, in December. Home is always best.
I can't wait to head home for the Christmas holidays. I am going to see my two children again, Lihlume (7) and Chumanco (8) in Sada, a township near Queenstown. Photo: Michelle Pienaar
Adelle and Bertus Myburgh with their kids, Anke and Ruan: As real estate agents in the most popular area in SA, the Christmas holidays is our busiest time at work. Even though we stay home, this doesn't dampen our cheery vibe as we enjoy regular outings and our Christmas feast on the beach.
Dít sal my hart bly maak. Mag almal 'n wonderlike feestyd hê.
is looking forward to spending this Christmas with all their friends and family, to welcome their little newborn angel, Uriel. Tony, Patience and their three children, Sasha, Bradley (absent on photo) and Uriel will enjoy their first Christmas as a family of five.
We will be going down to Durban for Christmas where my immediate family live. I can't wait, we are counting the days. It's my favourite time of the year. We celebrate Christmas, cause we're Christian, so it's very big for us in Durban - full-on turkey & the works. We prep the night before, because we go to church on the morning of Christmas Day. Just thinking about it makes me so happy. I love the decorations. Plus, the Botanical Garden does a lights show. It's so beautiful.
