GEORGE NEWS - The "Buddy group" children in Rosemoor, Conville, Thembalethu and Borcherds took to the streets of their respective areas last week in support of the 16 days of activism for no violence against women and children.
The Buddy group project is run by George Child and Family Welfare (GCW) with the Buddy Bus, a kitted-out mobile office, offering therapy and various life skills and recreational activities to children as it makes its rounds to various points in the communities every week.
Geanine Barends, project coordinator for the Buddy mobile unit, said, "We agree with the theme for 2017 - 'Count me in: together moving a non-violent South Africa'. This is why we are marching. Children must be heard, not hurt."
