GEORGE NEWS - Access to higher education in South Africa is not only a pressing issue but also a fundamental necessity for individual empowerment and national development.
With millions of young people striving to access quality tertiary education, the demand for accessible and inclusive learning opportunities has never been more critical.
Against this backdrop, STADIO Higher Education is excited to unveil its latest initiative - a cutting-edge Distance Learning Student Support Centre located in George.
This facility, which opened its doors on Monday, 4 March 2024, will extend quality tertiary education opportunities by providing administrative assistance to current and prospective distance learning students across the Southern Cape region.
Johann Ueckermann, Regional Collaborator at STADIO, shared, “By streamlining administrative processes, we aim to help students focus on their studies and reduce learning barriers. As we continue to expand our capacities, we are confident our new support centre will positively serve our students."
The escalating demand for higher education in South Africa has historically always exceeded supply, leaving several learners without access to the education they deserve.
In a commitment to reverse this trend, STADIO offers over 90 accredited programmes, including higher certificates, bachelor's degrees, master’s degrees, and doctorates in critical areas like education, management, IT, commerce, and law. These meticulously crafted courses not only provide excellent education but also significantly enhance students' employability in the competitive job market.
"The launch of our Distance Learning Student Support Centre in George marks a significant stride towards STADIO’s vision to make education more accessible,” Ueckermann added.
The decision to establish this hub in George was carefully deliberated. The city, a tertiary hub of the Southern Cape, is home to numerous public and private educational institutions with multiple campuses.
Additionally, George boasts the largest economy in the Garden Route, with several respected national and international corporations headquartered there, and being a hub of diversified skilled labour encouraging better employment opportunities.
