GEORGE NEWS - This year marks the fifth anniversary of Precious Ones, the day care centre with a difference.
Located in George South, Precious Ones provides both day and after care, complete with a holiday programme for working parents.
"It is like a home," says Alison Botha, one of the parents at the school.
Her three-year-old son Matthew is very happy at Precious Ones, where he receives learning, but above all, love - a very important ingredient for Alison.
During a visit to the school, the little ones enjoyed the outside entertainment area, making ample use of the jungle gym, swings and sandpit.
"Here we live for the well-being of our precious ones, we love and nurture them and provide an environment where they can be themselves and learn at the same time," says owner Bianca Rheeder.
At Precious Ones the children are treated to daily healthy meals, snacks and lunch.
Parents can view a daily menu which shows a variety of vegetables, fresh fruit, freshly baked muffins and sometimes special lunch treats like pizza.
The school offers on site activities like Playball, Monkeynastix, Music Kids, Ruggaball and swimming. A swimming instructor collects the children from school and bring them safely back after the swimming lesson.
All the teachers at Precious Ones are fully qualified and have completed first-aid training courses. CCTV cameras are installed in all the classrooms and the garden that are under constant surveillance. Precious Ones is open from 07:00 until 17:15 throughout the year, except on public holidays and for three weeks during the Christmas and New Year holi-day.
For more information of a guided tour through the school, contact the school principal Poppy Adams or the vice principal Caileen Jacobs on 044 873 4089. Precious Ones is situated at 58 Cradock Street.
