DataDot Technology's fundraising team, Ubuntu, recently paid Bethesda - an intermediate care facility, home based care programme and child and youth care centre - a visit and pleasantly surprised the children when they got back from school with goody bags.
The 45 children in the child and youth care centre, each received their own toiletry essentials and goody bags filled with treats. Two nebulisers were also donated to the Intermediate Care Facility.
Mandy Lucas, the projects operational assistant at Bethesda, expressed her gratitude and said they rely heavily on donations from the public to be able to provide a service to the community.
"These items will go a long way in assisting us to provide care to our patients," said Lucas.
Bethesda's CEO, Madeleine Meyer, also thanked DataDot for their support. "On behalf of Bethesda's staff, children and patients, we thank you for being part of our vision to provide holistic, compassionate and sustainable care that improves quality of life."
Although some of the children were camera shy, they were all excited about their goody bags, which they received when they got back from school.
