ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - The choir conductors, singers and music lovers of the Southern Cape are in for a rare treat when Dr Martin Berger, internationally acclaimed choral conductor and head of choral conducting at Stellenbosch University, presents a choral singing workshop in George on Saturday 20 September.
The full-day event will be held at Outeniqua High School from 09:00 to 17:00, free of charge and open to school, church and community choirs, as well as individuals passionate about choral music. Refreshments will be provided.
Participants may look forward to expert guidance on choral techniques, vocal development and ensemble dynamics.
A highlight will be a practical session with the Stellenbosch University Chamber Choir (SUCC), during which the attendees will have the chance to conduct the choir themselves.
The day will conclude with a concert at the NG Church Denneoord at 18:30, featuring performances conducted by Berger and Lunathi Ncamani, giving participants the opportunity to hear the same works presented during the workshop.
The event is supported by McDonald's as a collaborator and promises to be a valuable opportunity for learning, networking and inspiration within the local choral community.
