GEORGE NEWS - The FNB Classic Clash which was played over the weekend, proved once again why it is one of the most popular tournaments on the school sport calendar.

The tournament is also known for drawing large crowds and this year was no exception.

The activities, which both George- and Pacaltsdorp High participated in, started last Wednesday when several games were played.

But the highlight undoubtedly came on Saturday when the final match took place at Rosemoor stadium with current champions, Pacaltsdorp High, defending their their consecutive victory of the previous two years.

But George High had other plans and took the trophy with a narrow margin of 7-3.

For Gerge High this was their first victory in two years and they had every reason to be proud.

The Principal of Pacaltsdorp responded by saying: "We are very disappointed about the outcome, but we are optimistic about next year."
