Beating this league team on their home turf at Touwsranten has encouraged Eden Park, who hail from Erf 325, to aim for a league position in the not too distant future. This is the second time they have beaten Super Stars which means that so far Eden Park has won eight and lost eight games so far this season.
Saturday’s game saw Seven Stars convert three penalties but it was not enough to beat Eden Park’s two tries, one scored by 8th man and team captain Robin-Lee Stoffels, and the other by reserve wing, Jason Ekstraal.
The man of the match was Eden Park’s Shane Loggenberg.
The team will be on display at Delville Park this Saturday from 12:00 where team members will take receipt of their new sponsored rugby jerseys. This is a far cry from the borrowed jerseys they started playing with and it is thanks to Pacaltsdorp Butchery and SeaView liquor store that the team will jog out in their yellow kit.
Any teams inte-rested in playing friendly matches against Eden Park, or players who are interested in joining the team, are welcome to contact chairperson, Mr J Rondganger on 073 291 2044. The team practices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:30 to 20:00.
