GEORGE NEWS - Following a Covid drought of two years, the George Herald Run with the Stars 10km night race was met with much excitement by athletes of various clubs who joined the action last Friday, 9 September, at Glenwood House.
This event is organised by the Nedbank Running Club SWD and held under the rules and regulations of Athletics South Africa and Athletics South Western Districts. Participants traditionally dress up for the event, creating a festive, fun-loving atmosphere.
This year's theme was Mad Hatters Tea Party.
Lloyd Bosman was the men's winner with a time of 29 minutes and 28 seconds, and Mariaan Duvenhage took the first women's position with a time of 42 minutes and 14 seconds.

Eden Xperience
The night race runs in conjunction with the school's annual fun family event Eden Xperience, organised by the Parents' Association. Carnival games, rides, a colour run, inflatables, a tea garden and raffles kept learners of Glenwood House busy from noon to sundown.
Debbie Symes of Glenwood House said it was an awesome sight to see all the children and parents having fun at their annual event.
The school thanks their main sponsors for helping to make this an event to remember: Pick n Pay Precap, Aida George, Spur, Oakhurst Farm cottages and Whale's Way Ocean Retreat.
Chandré Bosshoff (Sedgefield Striders), Robbie Joubert (Cape Multisport, Wilderness) and Leana Opperman (Run Zone, Johannesburg) were among the participants.
