GEORGE BOWLS NEWS - The inaugural Quadrangular Lawn Bowls Tournament for forces teams will be held at Outeniqua Bowling Club with the top players from South Africa's forces in action.
The teams in the tournament will represent the SA Air Force, SA Police Service, SA Correctional Services and the Presidential Invitational team with various international players in their midst.
The George mayor will roll the first bowl at 14:00 on Sunday 24 November to mark the official opening of the tournament.
The 48 players in the clash will represent eight men's and four ladies' teams. On Monday and Tuesday the pairs teams will show their best techniques on the greens with the singles to follow on Wednesday and the fours matches on Friday and Saturday. The prize-giving will be held on Saturday afternoon after the final matches.
The president of the Outeniqua Bowling Club, Bennie van Loggerenberg, said that they are delighted to act as hosts for a tournament of this magnitude.
