GEORGE GOLF NEWS - Caylum Boon successfully defended his Oubaai Club Championships title last weekend.
The tournament was played in very strong winds, which seriously affected the scoring.
Caylum led by 3 strokes after round one and ultimately won by 4 strokes.
Besides winning the Oubaai Club Championships, Caylum was also announced as Oubaai Golf Club's Player of the Year for the second consecutive year.
Highlights of Caylum's year included a second national tournament victory at the EP Strokeplay, a course record 11 under par 61 in the Simola Open and a trip overseas that saw him compete in the Lytham Trophy at Royal Lytham and St Annes - where he was one of three South Africans accepted to play - the Irish Amateur and the Austrian Amateur, where he finished 11th.
