FOOTBALL NEWS - The Western Cape third division playoffs that involve the Safa Eden Regional Men's League champions from Lawaaikamp in George, Simunye Football Club, will kick off this coming weekend, Saturday and Sunday 2 and 3 July. 

The games will be played at Mbekweni Stadium in Paarl.

The Eden Region has high hopes for Simunye to perform well in the playoffs. If they have success in the playoffs, it will boost the number of teams from Eden District in the Western Cape ABC Motsepe Provincial League for the upcoming season.

The top two teams from the playoffs will be automatically promoted to the semi-professional Western Cape ABC Motsepe league.

The other regional champions are Hanover (Cape Town), Simunye (Eden), Batallions (Cape Winelands), Bubs (Central Karoo), Rangers (West Coast) and Fleetwood (Overberg).
