GEORGE FOOTBALL NEWS - The Lawaaikamp soldiers, Simunye Football Club, played to a 0-0 draw against Peace Makers Football Club from Mossel Bay during a Safa Eden SAB regional league game at the Lawaaikamp stadium last Saturday.
Simunye started the game at a high tempo and created several opportunities for the first goal of the game. Their first corner kick of the game by Siyabonga "Mpumlo" Miggels hit the right post denying them their first goal.Both sides were playing forward attacking football.
Peace Makers soaked-up the pressure from Simunye's strong attacks. Peace Makers launched a dangerous attack on the left side of the field but their attempt was blocked by a Simunye defender.
The second half started at the fast pace with Peace Makers creating more goal scoring chances for their first goal of the game. They employed the speed of Asemahle Bobelo on the right side and he managed to drive a powerful strike at goal but his shot was well-blocked by Simunye goalkeeper, Awonke Muma.
Xolani Mtshotshi of Peace Makers missed his chance after his shot went over the cross bar. Peace Makers came back in the dying moments of the game putting pressure on the home side. Mphumzi Kalolo (Peace Makers) was denied a goal after his his powerful header hit the cross bar.
Asemahle Bobelo's (Peace Makers) last chance of the game was also blocked by Simunye's Awonke Muma.
The game ended with no score 0-0.
Simunye Football Club failed to win at home against Peace Makers Football Club from Mossel Bay last Saturday.
