FOOTBALL NEWS - George Celtic Football Club will be hosting their second over 35s soccer tournament at PW Botha High School from Saturday 23 until Monday 25 September.
Ten teams will compete in this year's tournament where Dalians FC Legends, from Johannesburg, will be defending their title.
Competing teams are: Rangers FC Legends, Apex FC Legends, Wolves FC Legends, Callies FC Legends, Park United FC Legends (all from Port Elizabeth), Kraaifontein FC Legends (from Cape Town), Kasi FC Legends (from Knysna), and George representatives Burning Spears FC Legends and George Celtic FC.
The teams will be divided into two groups of five, with the winner of Group A facing the runner-up of Group B and the winner of Group B facing the runner-up of Group A in the semi-finals.
The winner will walk away with R5 000 and a floating trophy.
The runners-up will receive R2 000 and the team placed third will get R1 500 and two match balls.
The tournament will have rolling subs.
Everyone is invited to come watch and cheer on the teams.
Entrance is free for all three days.
