GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - A brilliant, versatile performance by Six Gun Grill SWD cricketer Micaela Andrews secured victory for the SWD Women’s team in both the limited over and Twenty/20 fixtures last weekend.
With these away victories at St George’s Park in Gqeberha, the SWD ladies remain unbeaten for the season and are well positioned to top pool B.
In the limited over match the home side posted 148, with Andrews the top bowler with figures of 3/21. SWD, thanks to an unbeaten 85 by Andrews, reached the target (149/7) in the 42nd over for a three-wicket victory.
In the Twenty/20 clash on Sunday, SWD posted 111/7 in their allotted 20, overs thanks to Andrews (31) and Mochelle May (31). Andrews (3/13) was again instrumental in restricting EP (98/8) for a 13-run victory.
