GEORGE NEWS - A new chapter began at Hoekwil Primary this week with the launch of its brand-new school tuck shop, Wildflower Pantry, officially opened on Wednesday 4 June.
The initiative is led by Leandri Schoeman, a well-known member of the school community and a long-time home baker with a passion for quality and care. For years she has been delighting local families with her cupcakes, cookies and brownies, and now brings that same heart into the daily lives of learners at the school.
"I've been part of this special little farm-style school for many years, and it truly has a place in my heart," said Schoeman.
"Together with the school, we've developed a menu that's not only tasty, but also nutritious and balanced, keeping our children's health and happiness in mind."
The Wildflower Pantry tuck shop will offer a mix of sweet and savoury options, all prepared with Schoeman's well-known attention to detail. "If it's not good enough for my own family, it doesn't go on the menu," she added.
Learners, staff and parents were all smiles on the first day as the pantry opened its doors.
