NATIONAL NEWS - World Animal Week is celebrated from 4 to 10 October and the SPCA movement in South Africa takes this opportunity to reach communities to raise awareness to uplift the welfare of all animals. This is based on asking the simple question - 'have I helped an animal today?'.

Furry Friday kicks off Animal Week this year on 3 October.

This day is the ideal opportunity to support your local SPCA by purchasing a pawprint ribbon for R10 and wearing it to show you care about animal welfare.

Businesses and organisations can also encourage staff to bring a tin or bag of cat or dog food, which will help feed a few furry friends during their stay at the local SPCA.

Being animal-friendly is a way of life.
