Alleged kidnapper nanny to face multiple charges

NATIONAL NEWS - A woman who allegedly kidnapped a three-year-old Eastern Cape girl is due in court next week.

The child was tracked in Mozambique this week by the Hawks and local authorities.

She was kidnapped from her home in East London last month allegedly by a woman who was hired to look after her.

It’s understood she asked for R500,000 ransom from the child’s parents.

The woman was arrested in Gauteng's East Rand while two other people believed to be her relatives were nabbed in Mozambique.

The police’s Khaya Tonjeni says she faces a number of charges.
