We got word of a new performance car and here are the details:

The all-new 308 was launched a few months ago and our editor, Sean Nurse, was there. He reported that the car impressed him but, like many of us, he too has been waiting in anticipation for a hot version. Well, it’s here and straight away we can tell that the promise of an unparalleled driving experience was a tall order. Peugeot engineers and designers had to design the most radical model in the range for a particularly demanding set of customers. Has Peugeot done it? Yes, but not without some help.

Peugeot decided to enrol the help of the boffins from their Peugeot Sport division. Engineers with a wealth of international expertise in the field, helped develop the new hot hatch.

Peugeot Sport is a division devoted exclusively to developing the brand’s most high-performance models. Team engineers used their expertise to create the ultimate driving experience behind the wheel of the Peugeot 308 GTi by Peugeot Sport.

The World Premiere of this model will take place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and will be a main attraction at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The new 308 GTI will be entering a highly competitive segment as cars like the Volkswagen Golf GTI, Ford Focus ST, Megane RS and Opel Astra OPC all battle for the top spot and they have been at it for a while now.
