Replacing the GL, GLX, GLS and limited run Sport variants, the range is now made up of a single trim level, the newly unveiled ES that comes with equipment derived from the GLX such as a panoramic glass roof, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, voice recognition and USB, electric windows, telescopically adjustable steering column, automatic air-conditioning, keyless go, leather wrapped multifunction steering wheel, cruise control, seven airbags, ABS with EBD and BAS, daytime running LEDs, a reverse camera with rear parking sensors and auto locking doors.
As with prior updates, Mitsubishi has kept motivation unchanged with the normally aspirated 2.0-litre petrol again producing 110 kW and 197 N.m of torque, transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT with the latter also seeing the inclusion of features such as Hill Start Assist and Traction Control. Fuel consumption is rated at 7.5 L/100 km for both models.
Priced at R359 995 for the manual and at R379 995 for the CVT, the ASX comes as standard with a three year/100 000 km warranty as well as a five year/90 000 km service plan.
