Limited to just 100 units a year, the tentatively named Exorcist, no doubt aimed directly at the forthcoming Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, shares the regular ZL1's 6.2-litre LT4 supercharged V8, but adds a larger blower, upgraded intercooler, new camshafts, ported heads, beefed-up intake system and remapped ECU as well as bespoke exterior enhancements.
The end result is a 350 horsepower or 261 kW gain over the standard car for a total of 746 kW (1 000 horsepower) and an earth shattering 1 309 Nm of torque. According to Hennessey, the Exorcist will reach 100 km/h from standstill is less than three seconds, and although no top speed was revealed, expect it to be on the dark side of 320 km/h.
Prices for the Exorcist start at $55 000 ($755 040) excluding the $62 135 (R852 989) sticker price of the standard ZL1, while an optional Drag Pack, made up of a upgraded driveshaft, floor jack, tool kit and 20-inch Nitto drag tyres, will cost a further a $8 995 (R123 483).
A special Road Race Pack with 20-inch lightweight Hennessey wheel wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 will set buyers back a further $6 995 (R96 027), while those wanting an automatic gearbox will have to work out an additional $9 950 (R136 593) for an upgraded version of the ZL1's 10-speed automatic 'box.
