GEORGE NEWS - A community march organised by Thembalethu Qina-Mhlali (TQM) will take place in George on Friday 19 June.
The march aims to raise community concerns regarding illegal immigration, compliance with labour and immigration laws, and the impact these issues have on local communities.
Organisers say participants will call on relevant government departments and law enforcement agencies to strengthen the enforcement of existing legislation and to address concerns raised by residents.
According to organisers, the march will be conducted peacefully and in accordance with the applicable laws governing public gatherings.
Participants will assemble at 07:00 next to the Fire Station in Fourways, Thembalethu.
From there, the march will proceed along Nelson Mandela Boulevard into York Street, where memorandums will be handed over to various departments, including the police, the Department of Home Affairs, and the Department of Employment and Labour.
