MOTORING NEWS - Motor enthusiasts in the Garden Route will have the opportunity to witness a spectacular mass ride of at least 26 Lamborghinis next week when the Lamborghini SA club visits Mossel Bay on Thursday 22 August.
Project coordinator Gys van Staden says the visit is the prelude to more exciting events that are planned for 2020, such as a proper Daytona that will take place from 27 March to
3 April and will pass through the Garden Route en route from East London to Cape Town.
The Rogue Rally, planned for 30 April next year, will see at least 50 different supercars compete in an event never before witnessed in these parts.
The Lamborghinis, however, will be showcased to motor sport enthusiasts in a mass ride that will give at least 20 locals the opportunity to ride in the supercars. The club will be running a competition that will benefit the ACVV senior citizens' homes and the winners will be welcomed as passengers during part of the mass ride through town.

At this stage it is planned that drivers will leave Pinnacle Point Estate, where they will be staying over, at approximately 16:30 on 22 August.
Enthusiasts will have ample opportunity to gawk as the drivers cruise the R1-million cars down Mayixhale Road, Bill Jeffery Road, the N2 to Langeberg Mall and Louis Fourie Road to George Road. The motorcade will stop at De Bakke, from where competition winners will be able to drive with the vehicles on their way to the Point, where there will again be opportunity for photos.
The vehicles will then depart along Marsh Street and up the hill past the municipality before they make their way to the Aeronautica Club, where the drivers will meet for supper.
The 26 Lamborghinis parked off George Road should be quite a spectacle. "The most expensive vehicle showcased in Mossel Bay is in excess of R14-million," Van Staden told Autodealer. The club welcomes photographers who wish to take pictures of the supercars. For more information, contact Gys van Staden at email@example.com.
