Aside from receiving the same subtle cosmetic enhancements as the rest of the range, the biggest highlight is the introduction of the Clio RS 220 Trophy, a model which has remained forbidden fruit for South Africans until now.

Boasting a 20 mm lower ride height than the regular RS Lux, 18-inch RS wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber, an Akrapovic exhaust and red brake callipers with 320 mm ventilated disc, the Trophy also features a more powerful version of the RS' 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, which, as its name suggest, produces 162 kW (220 PS) instead of 147 kW (200 PS).

Claimed to hit 100 km/h from standstill in 6.6 seconds before topping out at 235 km/h, the Trophy, like the RS, comes fitted with a six-speed EDC dual-clutch gearbox, with Launch Control, RS Drive selector and a RS monitor standard on both cars.

A five year / 150 000 km warranty and three year / 30 000 km service plan is standard on both models.
