Based on the flagship Highline model, the UK spec Dark Label essentially mirrors the Euro model and gets matte black mirror caps, door handles, side steps, sports bar and rear bumper, an exclusive Carbon Steel grey metallic finish and 18-inch Rawson alloy wheels.
More minor, the interior receives Alcantara trimmed seats, black headliner, gloss chrome air vents bezels and Dark Label specific floor mats. Standard spec includes the 6.3-inch Discover Media infotainment system, auto on/off headlights with cornering function, rain sense wipers and heated electrically folding mirrors.
Unlike the V6 sold on local shores, the UK Dark Label comes powered by a detuned version of the 3.0-litre TDI V6 oil burner that produces 150 kW and 500 Nm of torque, hooked to an eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox and permanent 4Motion all-wheel drive.
Pricing for the Dark Label starts at £33 650 (R572 931), but with South Africa's range of models starting off at R697 400 for the 165 kW Highline, the Dark Label is unlikely to reach local dealerships anytime soon despite Volkswagen mulling the possible introduction of a manual equipped V6 launched in the UK last year.
