GEORGE NEWS - Garden Route SPCA (GRSPCA) inspector Gerda Groenewald and field officer Jason Jakobs spent last Thursday in Touwsranten, Hoekwil, as part of their initiative to dedicate four consecutive Thursdays to their outreach programme.
During each visit, the animals receive a health check, necessary dipping, and on-site treatment for any medical conditions.
The team also educates the community on the importance of sterilising their pets.
These efforts are in preparation for the Hoekwil Humane Society's Spayathon on 8 June.
This event - supported by various animal welfare organisations, charities and sponsors - aims to sterilise the animals in the Touwsranten community.
