Update
WILDERNESS NEWS - Notice has been received from George Municipality regarding the water outage for Wilderness and surrounds.
Status of water supply: Remains at emergency status.
Consumption of water remains too high and there is a strong possibility the reservoirs could run dry again today (15 October). The main water supply to Wilderness from the Ebb and Flow Water Treatment Works does not meet the daily demand and is not able to keep all reservoirs filled.
Consumers must please be aware that this could lead to intermittent supply today for extended periods in order (i.e certain sections of Wilderness and surrounds being shut down completely) to build up reserves again.
The municipality reminds consumers that the system remains vulnerable until the repair on the Kaaiman’s Railway Bridge has been finalised.
Interim water supply
5 x 5000 litre water tanks are located at Bundu Supersave and along Remskoen Drive.
Update on repair planning and safety consideration
The laying of the temporary pipeline along Kaaiman’s Railway Bridge is progressing well.
George Municipality apologises for the inconvenience and would like to thank all of the communities of Wilderness and surrounds for their continued patience and assistance.
Please contact 044 801 9262/66 or 044 8016300 a/h for enquiries.
