Update: Sanco march in York Street

GEORGE NEWS AND VIDEOS - The South African National Civics Organisation (Sanco) march has reached the municipality.

The SANCO members are communicating their concerns.

One lane in York Street is completely blocked.

Go George will strive to maintain service levels but asks for patience from the public.

VIDEO: "We are going to make George ungovernable" said Phumela Nosana, regional secretary of the ANC, if their demands are not met. The mayor of George, Jackie von Brandis, has arrived to receive their memorandum of demands.

VIDEO: "George will never be the same," said Xolisani Booi, Sanco regional chairperson, to the mayor of George, Jackie von Brandis. He made it clear that while today was a peaceful march, the next one might very well not be should Sanco's demands not be met. Von Brandis acknowledged receipt of the memorandum and the march and taxis have now dispersed. Video: Jacques Du Toit
