Update
GEORGE NEWS - The trial of the the seven men accused of attacking Maximilian Reimann (20) in Pacaltsdorp in the early hours of Saturday morning, 27 August 2022, will commence on 30 January next year.
The trial was initially scheduled to start on 30 November, but due to time constraints, load shedding and a very busy court roll, the case was postponed.
Bail for all seven accused was denied in September last year and they have all been in custody since their arrest shortly after the incident.
Johnwill Tarentaal (20), Chaywin van Niekerk (18), Shannen-Lee Botha (18), Jody Botha (21), Sheldon Remas (19), Ethan Bevie (21) and Chadwill Kiewiet (19) all face a charge of robbery with aggravating circumstances.
Reimann was nearly hypothermic when he was found. He also had severe injuries toe his face and his clothes had been torn off his body.
