GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Two men and a woman were arrested in unrelated incidents involving illegal firearms on Sunday 26 November.
At approximately 01:40, Thembalethu police were busy with patrols in crime hotspot areas when they noticed a suspicious-looking man.
They swiftly approached the man and upon searching him, found an unlicensed revolver in his possession. The firearm was confiscated and the man was arrested.
Later the same day, members deployed in Kwanokuthula, Plettenberg Bay, acting on information of illegal activity at a house in Sishuba Street.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, the premises were searched and eight rounds of ammunition, a firearm as well as small quantities of tik and Mandrax were found in possession of the two occupants.
The man (33) and woman (21) were arrested on charges relating to the unlawful possession of the firearm, ammunition and drugs.
